If you're living in or visiting Croatia, you might be wondering about the legal status of nicotine pouches and snus. Are they legal? Where can you buy them? And what are your options if you're looking to get your hands on pouches while in Croatia? In this blog post, weβll cover everything you need to know.
Are Snus and Nicotine Pouches Legal in Croatia?
In Croatia, chewing tobacco is the only type of oral tobacco thatβs officially allowed to be sold. But hereβs the thing - nicotine pouches arenβt classed as tobacco, so they fall under general consumer rules. That means you can legally buy, use, and even import them without any issues. Right now, there arenβt any age restrictions, and no big changes to the law are expected anytime soon - though Croatia will eventually need to keep up with any new EU rules down the line.
Additionally, brining small amount of snus for personal use also shouldn't be a problem, however, keep in mind that you won't be able to buy it in Croatia.
Trends in Croatia
Right now, nicotine pouches arenβt as popular in Croatia as they are in other parts of Europe or places like the U.S. or Canada. But itβs a growing scene, and it probably wonβt be long before they catch on here too.
Where to Buy Nicotine Pouches in Croatia?
Local optionsΒ - Some convenience stores or vape shops in larger cities like Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Split, or Rijeka might carry nicotine pouches. However, the selection is often limited, and pricing can be higher than online.
Online stores -Shopping for nicotine pouches online is usually easier on your wallet and gives you way more options to choose from. Plus, it doesnβt really matter where in Croatia you live - stores like Snus Core ship straight to your door, so you can get your favorites delivered without any stress.
Some of the brands you can purchase online:
- VeloΒ - Youβve probably heard of this nicotine pouch brand - and for good reason. Velo continues to hold its spot as one of the leading names in the game.
- Lundgrens - Lundgrens might not be for everyone, but it definitely has a loyal fanbase thanks to its high-quality, Swedish-inspired nicotine pouches.
- CubaΒ - Do we even need to say anything? Cuba isn't for the faint-hearted, but if you're after a strong nicotine kick, it absolutely hits the spot. Their bold black pouches are in a league of their own
Final Thoughts
While snus and nicotine pouches are still gaining popularity in Croatia, you can legally buy and use nicotine pouches there, whether you're traveling or living in the country. However, once again, online shopping might be the better option, but you can always choose what works best for you.
