How VELO labels strength
VELO puts a strength word in the product name: Medium, Strong, X-Strong, Max, Ultra. These words are useful as a rough guide, but they are not a strict ladder. In this peppermint family, Max has the highest nicotine content per pouch, Ultra sits below it and X-Strong is lower again. The reliable way to compare is the mg per pouch (and mg per gram) on each product page. Mini pouches, such as Crispy Peppermint Mini, are smaller, so their mg per pouch is lower even where the mg per gram is similar.
Freezing Peppermint Max vs X-Strong vs Ultra: the differences that matter
Freezing Peppermint Max Strong
VELO Freezing Peppermint Max Strong has 17 mg per pouch (24 mg/g), which our product page describes as one of the strongest options on the market and aimed at experienced users. It is the one to pick if strength is your priority.
Freezing Peppermint X-Strong
VELO Freezing Peppermint X-Strong has 10.9 mg per pouch (15.6 mg/g). It is the same icy peppermint profile at a lower strength, a good choice if Max feels like too much.
Freezing Peppermint Ultra Strong
VELO Freezing Peppermint Ultra Strong has 14 mg per pouch (20 mg/g): between X-Strong and Max, with the same slim format and a lasting peppermint aftertaste.
Peppermint Storm X-Strong and Crispy Peppermint Mini (alternatives)
Peppermint Storm X-Strong (10.9 mg per pouch) is a bold, crisp peppermint in the same strength range as Freezing Peppermint X-Strong. Crispy Peppermint Mini Strong (8 mg per pouch, 16 mg/g) uses a smaller mini pouch, which suits people who prefer a more discreet size.
Which strong VELO should you pick?
- Maximum strength, experienced users only: Freezing Peppermint Max Strong (17 mg per pouch).
- Strong, but not the top of the range: Freezing Peppermint Ultra Strong (14 mg per pouch).
- Strong and easier to handle: Freezing Peppermint X-Strong or Peppermint Storm X-Strong (10.9 mg per pouch).
- Smaller, more discreet pouch: Crispy Peppermint Mini Strong (8 mg per pouch).
Every product above costs the same €4.79 per can, which works out at roughly €0.23 to €0.24 per pouch, so price should not decide it: choose on strength, flavour and pouch size. A useful habit is to note the mg per pouch of the product you currently use and compare that figure with the table, rather than relying on the strength word in the name.
Not into peppermint? Strong VELO fruit
If you want strength without the cooling mint, VELO Icy Cherry Strong and VELO Blue Raspberry Strong both have 10 mg per pouch (14.3 mg/g) in a slim format, at €4.79 per can. Compare with the mint options above: Icy Cherry and Blue Raspberry sit at roughly the same level as Freezing Peppermint X-Strong.
Stepping down: VELO Green Spearmint Medium
VELO Green Spearmint has 6 mg per pouch (8.6 mg/g), with 24 pouches per can. It is the gentlest product in this comparison and a sensible place to start if the others are stronger than you are used to. Nicotine is addictive, and a higher mg number means a stronger effect, so increase strength gradually if at all.
